Restaurant Manager Trainee (Restaurant at Cache Creek Motel)

Location: Cache Creek, British Columbia (Affiliated with Bears Claw Lodge)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, 35 hours/week
Compensation: $67,200 per year.

We pride ourselves on serving delicious, quality meals with a focus on comfort food. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Restaurant Manager Trainee. Job Description: As a Restaurant Manager Trainee (NOC 60030), you will undergo comprehensive training in all aspects of restaurant operations, preparing you for a future management role. You will work closely with the owner-operator to learn about daily operations, customer service, staff supervision, and financial management. This role is designed for individuals eager to learn and take on increasing responsibility within our dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities (Training will cover, but not be limited to):
Assisting in the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of restaurant operations.
Learning about determining the type of services to be offered and implementing operational procedures.
Assisting in the recruitment of staff and overseeing staff training.
Supporting the setting of staff work schedules and monitoring staff performance.
Understanding and assisting with inventory control, monitoring revenues, and modifying procedures and prices.
Learning to resolve customer complaints and ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.
Assisting in negotiating arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
Collaborating with the Head of Kitchen to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high standards of food quality.
Occasionally assisting with food preparation or cooking during peak hours or for training purposes, to gain a comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations.
Contributing to a positive, efficient, and welcoming working environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Post-secondary education in hospitality management or a related field.
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting a must.
Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
