New Glasgow is a beautiful riverside Town of 9,075 residents, located in northern Nova Scotia, which serves as the commercial service centre for the region of Pictou County with a population of 43,748 and the wider Northern Nova Scotia area. In 2011 the Town received the top award in its population category of 7,500-10,000 and also was given the Parks Canada Sustainable Tourism Award at the Tourism Industry Association Crystal awards in the fall of 2011. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business also rated New Glasgow as one of the top entrepreneurial communities in Canada in 2016. The Town of New Glasgow was named one of the 2016 Nova Scotia Lt. Governor's Community Spirit Award winners.
