Your Contribution

As an Hygiene Health & Safety Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Hygiene Health & Safety team.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules.
  • Co-ordinate and complete assigned activities with respect to the implementation and management of environmental projects including but not limited to:
  • Carry out surveys related to Designated Substances and other Hazardous Materials, industrial hygiene investigation, asbestos and mould assessment, indoor air quality assessments, potable water surveys and radon surveys.
  • Supervise and verify site remediation activities.
  • Preparation of field notes, data analysis and evaluation.
  • Participate in technical report and proposal writing.
  • Participate in project meetings, office meetings, and health and safety inspections.
  • Maintaining a commitment to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high-quality of work.
  • Consistently maintaining professionalism and objectivity while working with colleagues and clients who require varying degrees of support.
  • Handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships. Conducting project administration tasks as required, including time-sheet generation, organizing and filing, equipment calibration and maintenance.
  • Flexible schedule to work after regular business hours, weekends, and holidays (On occasion).

Your Profile

  • University degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene or University Degree or College Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, Environmental Technology or an environmental-related field
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant environmental assessment/field experience.
  • Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with use of MS Office.
  • Experience in supervising contractors on the work site.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and able to complete work within established timeframes;
  • Team-oriented and an excellent communicator.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Travel to remote areas, away from your normal place of work may be required.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
