The OSCO Construction Group is expanding and with this growth come new & exciting opportunities to expand our highly regarded team of professionals.  Ocean Steel currently has a career opportunity for a Welding Quality Control Inspector in Saint John, New Brunswick.  Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Welding Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for complete inspection of all aspects of the steel fabrication process.

Responsibilities:

• Inspection of steel throughout the fabrication process including incoming inspection, fit-up, bolting, welding and painting to ensure  product meets quality standards;
• Ensure manufactured product meets drawing and specification requirements;
• Complete various quality control reports in a timely and efficient manner;
• Shift work is inherent of this position.

Requirements – Knowledge & Skills:

• Minimum Level 1 Welding Inspector Certification (CSA W178.2) by the Canadian Welding Bureau;
• Strong understanding of  Welding and/or Fitting of structural steel;
• Experience with quality systems (AISC, ISO), coatings inspection and NACE certification would be definite assets.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
• Detail-oriented & possess excellent organizational, communication & interpersonal skills;
• Strong computer skills using MS software programs are required;
