Our client is the nations’ leading foodservice and facilities Management Company providing services from coast to coast.
We are currently looking for a Regional Director of Operations to manage and lead the operations of a Long-Term Care multi-site food services department located in Vancouver, BC.
With a “Can Do” attitude and a “Passion for Excellence”, this individual will ensure that superior quality and variety of food are delivered with excellent customer service. You will be responsible in setting departmental goals and objectives, developing operating and capital budgets, and ensuring all department systems are complying with industry, regulatory and legislative standards.
You are accountable for the overall service planning including changes in facilities, systems and staffing requirements. You will provide coaching and mentoring to your department staff and conducting performance evaluation annually. Your effective communication skills will enhance service coordination and relationship building with other departments, as well as resolving issues efficiently with client/contact and clinical representatives. The successful candidate will also make certain that the department maintains strict compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor or advanced degree from a recognized university in Nutrition or Food Service Administration, Business Administration or Hotel and Restaurant Management.
- Graduate of a Registered Dietetic Internship Program or Masters program, eligible for membership in Dieticians of Canada and provincial dietetic professional college and/or association preferred.
- Ten years of progressive management and leadership experience in healthcare food services, preferably involved in a complex, multi-site facility with acute and extended care patients.
- Proven excellence in fiscal management of departmental budgets, contracts and project costs.
- Demonstrated labour relations experience in a unionized setting.
- Knowledgeable in the latest trends in hospital food services specifically cold plating technology utilizing ready prepared food items.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically / conceptually and evidence of achieving collaborative results across various departments and disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, work with, and develop direct reports and front-line staff during times of change and shifting priorities.
- Must be a self-starter, critical thinker and problem-solver.
- Excellent organization and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of food service IT
