St. Francis Xavier University, located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, is a top ranking Canadian university focused on academic excellence, innovation in teaching and research, service to society and international outreach.  We are seeking a high performing, seasoned professional to manage the University’s procurement function.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager Procurement will lead a high volume procurement function that consistently averages over $21 million dollars per year.  This position will also manage the Central Receiving & Shipping Dept., the Property and Fine Arts insurance portfolios, real estate negotiations and assist with other complex negotiations with third party contractors and suppliers of goods and services.  More generally, the Manager Procurement will recommend and implement policies and procedures to facilitate an efficient and effective procurement program and manage special projects as assigned by the Director Finance.  This is a high performance, high profile management role and the successful candidate will have a relevant university degree with 5 to 7 years experience in a similar role and preferably hold a Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation.
