Residential Care Worker

Victoria Park Guest House is a Residential Care Facility licensed by The Department of Health to provide residential care for 15 people over the age of 65 in a resident-focused environment located in Windsor, NS

Services provided include assistance with the activities of daily living, personal care, supervision and medication administration.

Duties include housekeeping, laundry, food and beverage service, recreational and leisure activities, shopping, attending on medical appointments and generally helping residents with their medical, physical and emotional needs.

A Residential Care Worker requires a sincere interest in the senior population, a high tolerance for inappropriate behaviours, excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, team members, families and volunteers and be willing and able to work various shifts and weekends.

A new hire must have Standard First Aid and CPR and be willing to meet the following minimum standards within 90 days:

• Food Handler's Course
• Fire and Life Safety
• Basic Principles and Practices of Personal Care
• Crisis Prevention
• Medication Awareness
• Individual Program Planning
• WHMIS
