Communtiy Wellness Worker

The Churchill Regional Health Authority is currently accepting resumes for a Community Wellness Worker with a background in child and youth counseling.
Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health/Community Wellness, the Community Wellness Worker provides assessments, care planning, counseling, mediation, group facilitation, educational presentations. We are presently seeking to provide clients (children, youth and adults) and in-services on relevant topics for Churchill Regional Health Authority employees and the community.
Qualifications and Responsibilies:
- Masters degree in social work or psychology (Bachelor degree in social work or psychology may be considered with relevant experience).
- Certified counseling training required (children and adolescence)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in mental health/counseling required
- Other relevant training e.g. conflict resolution, attachment, anger management, mediation, family systems and suicide prevention are definite assets
- Experience working in an aboriginal environment an asset
- Experience working with Children and Adolescent mental health
- Group facilitation and presentation skills required.
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional association
- Computer skills required
- Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry check is required
- A valid driver's license required
Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 7.50 hours per day (flexible) as well as on call as required.
