The Opportunity:

KPMG is currently seeking an SR&ED Consultant/Senior Consultant to join their Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Incentives group.  Various businesses conduct R&D activities to develop (or modify existing) products or processes with a view to developing property, reducing costs, improving performance, or creating new markets. To qualify for SR&ED tax credits, these activities must meet certain eligibility criteria.  The successful candidate will assist our clients in identifying eligible SR&ED activities and describing these activities in a technical report.  The candidate will benefit from exposure to science or technology leaders and state-of-the-art innovations at companies in several industries, and from continuous learning through conferences and networking.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining an overview of specific scientific or technology areas.
• Reconstruct a project from core and support SR&ED activities, since the majority of SR&ED claims are prepared after the fact.
• Identify the SR&ED starting point, innovations, uncertainties, and work performed
• Describe the project in a report that is consistent with SR&ED guidelines.

The Skills And Behaviours:

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviours:

• University degree in Engineering, or Science.
• Professional experience on a scientific or technological project development team or engineering consulting would be an asset.
• Strong communications skills and written and spoken French would be as asset.
