Duties: 

The Instructor will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses within the Industrial Safety program. S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment.  The Instructor will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area.  Instructors will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond.

Qualifications: 

Minimum of technician or technology diploma in a related engineering discipline; diploma in safety maintenance or loss prevention from an internationally recognized institute or university; member of a recognized professional safety or fire organization; and hands-on experience in safety management and fire operations in the oil and gas and/or petrochemical industry would be beneficial.  Teacher training and experience teaching at a post-secondary level are definite assets.  Expertise in curriculum development is desirable.  Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills combined with the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships are required.  Fluency in English is essential.
