CARIS is seeking a Project Lead with a business and technical background, to join our Special Projects team. This multi–faceted role requires the successful candidate to contribute to every aspect of assigned Projects including RFP response, negotiation, and follow up on contractual commitments to ensure superior offering and on-time delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Development of project proposals and coordination of assigned projects 
• Research and development submissions
• Development of exceptional business relationships with representatives from client organizations
• Negotiating technical and contractual aspects of projects, under direction
• Establishing contract terms, timelines, and budget 
• Maintaining overall project/bid control 
• Directing implementation teams 
• Meeting mission-critical deadlines 
• Being point-of-contact and maintaining open communication for clients and partners 
• Risk identification and escalation
• Handling of issues
• Overseeing budget control
• Scheduling

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge/understanding of the IT development lifecycle and or Geomatics/GIS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize both external demands and internal constraints 
• Critical thinking ability with good analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Negotiating skills
• Legal agreement/contracts experience
• Collaborative team player

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, or an Engineering-related field
• Technical Project experience, both independently and in cooperation with others

The following would be considered assets:

• Second language, preferably French or Spanish
• Customer facing experience
• Previous experience in an ISO certified environment
