Enterprise Risk Management Unit
(One Year Contractual Position, Subject to Renewal)
Duties:
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management, and working closely with affiliated units including Facilities Management, Marketing and Communications, Computing and Communications, Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and the Marine Institute, the successful applicant will take a lead role in planning and coordinating crisis and emergency preparedness and response planning for Memorial University.
Key responsibilities include developing, revising and implementing the university-wide program on crisis management, critical incident, behavioral incident, emergency preparedness, disaster recovery and business continuity; developing emergency preparedness documentation, policies, procedures; providing training in such policies and procedures to the University community; participating in meetings and supporting the work of the Emergency Operations Control Group (EOCG); advising all campuses and units on issues related to emergency preparedness and business continuity; researching best practices in the area and recommend appropriate courses of action; consulting with internal and external stakeholders; planning and assessing responses to disasters and other emergencies, and recommending improvements; organizing campus-wide emergency preparedness drills and exercises; identifying systems to be used for service during an emergency to ensure the safety of students, employees, and visitors.
Qualifications:
Considerable experience (3-5 years) in the development and administration of emergency preparedness plans and procedures; graduation with a degree in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Health and Safety or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience in the development and presentation of training seminars and programs would be an asset.
Salary: $35,557 on the scale of $35,557 - $49,863 per annum
