Manager-Answers
(Contractual Position April 11, 2009)
The Manager of Answers provides leadership, direction, implementation and coordination of programs and services in support of the mandate of the Department of Student Affairs and Services. As a member of the Student Success leadership team, this position is accountable for the development and implementation of innovative student development programs and creative enhancements.
Duties:
The successful applicant will perform managerial and professional duties in a high paced student centered environment. Duties include preparing short and long term goals and assuring their attainment within the overall goals of Student Affairs and Services; collaborating across departments with academic units; supervising full-time personnel and students; preparing budget submissions; managing Answers, whose one-stop services consist of the University Campus Card, Locker Services and Student Loan distribution; providing leadership for the development and implementation of innovative student development programs including new programs to improve student’s transition to the University and initiatives for facilitating strong student leadership within the student community; operating current programs in student leadership and transition, including fall and winter orientation, leader forum, and Memorial Ambassador; developing a strategic plan for service enhancements; and performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Experience (1-3 years) in a post-secondary student support role, including some supervisory experience; graduation with a graduate degree in education, social sciences or a related discipline; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. The successful applicant will have skills in the following: leadership, team building, project management, budget planning, and interpersonal communication. An understanding of student development theory and research, the ability to strategically plan and coordinate new efforts for program developments, and a proven ability to achieve creative and innovative solutions are assets.
Salary: $40,277 on the scale of $40,277 – $56,482 per annum
