Based in Truro, Nova Scotia, our client is involved in the food processing, manufacturing and restaurant franchising industries. They are Atlantic Canadian owned and operated with a keen understanding of the business of food from the ground up.
We are seeking a Restaurant General Manager for one of their Franchises. You will have the opportunity to work for a well established, casual dining, licensed restaurant which features a broad menu of delicious roadhouse and other contemporary choices.
The general Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing the restaurant including overall customer service, food and operating cost controls, inventory management, staffing, marketing and menu development. As the successful candidate, you will assist the owners to develop and evolve the local concept for possible future expansion.
What it takes to succeed:
- A self-motivated, organized individual with superior interpersonal skills.
- One who thrives in a busy restaurant environment where he/she is responsible in handling a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
- Has a minimum two years experience as a General Manager in a full service restaurant concept.
- Preferably a good understanding of various computer software applications such as Mircosoft, Excel, Power Point and Maitre’D POS System.
Primary Duties:
- To assume full responsibility for the daily administration of the restaurant.
- To take overall responsibility for all cash in the store, ensuring proper cash controls are implemented and maintained and cash receipts are deposited daily.
- To achieve and maintain overall restaurant labor cost, within budget parameters, by taking responsibility to staff, train and schedule personnel
- To achieve and maintain overall restaurant food cost to budget.
- To ensure customer service and product quality are always focus points in decisions.
- Annual menu development, design, pricing and strategy.
- To direct local promotion of the restaurant to attain optimum sales potential.
- To assume full responsibility for the daily operations of the business.
