Position: Fife & Drum Pub Server

Position Overview:
To ensure total guest satisfaction through prompt and efficient service in a courteous and professional manner
Duties:
- Follow all Marriott policies outlined in the Associate Handbook
- Know and follow all Standard Operation Policies related to your area(s)
- Promote and practice aggressive hospitality through the Spirit to Serve Program of Marriott
- Be familiar with the American Sanitation Inspection (ASI) policies and follow the procedures without exception
- Insure guest satisfaction at all times
- Promote and practice aggressive hospitality through the Spirit to Serve Program of Marriott
- Practice safe work habits and encourage others to do the same
- Understand and practice all ASI procedures
- Adhere to all appearance and hygiene standards, this includes wearing your nametag and Spirit to Serve Basics Card
- Have knowledge of all dishes, glassware and their proper usage
- Knowledge of all equipment and safety procedures
- Maintain table settings in compliance with the standards
- Use table and tray service as outlined in the standards
- Have complete understanding of the menus and wine lists
- Use the proper verbiage as outlined in the standards when answering the phone or delivering an order
- Utilize Suggestive Selling techniques to enhance the guests dining experience and increase the average check
- Ensure all food and beverage is correct and properly presented before being delivered to the guest
- Follow proper procedures for the ordering and handling of alcoholic beverages
- Adhere to Marriott's Standard Operating Procedures for proper cash handling
- Follow all procedures for entering and exiting guestrooms.
- Understand the Micros system and operate it correctly.
- Process all guest checks correctly
- Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management
Physical Demands
- Eye Strain, use of Micros POS Systems
- Lifting up to 25 lbs
- Bending both at the back and knees continuous throughout the shift
- Pulling/Pushing up to 80 lbs. Several times per day
- Standing /walking 7 ½ hours in an 8 ½ hour shift
- Constant use of stairs
- Carrying up to 20 lbs. up to 60 feet
Qualifications:
- 1 year food and beverage experience required
- Excellent listening skills
- Excellent telephone manner
- Extremely clear hand writing
- Good basic math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Detail orientated
- Good organization and time management skills
- Knowledge of wine, spirits and cuisine a requirement
- Working knowledge of Micros POS systems an asset
- Responsible beverage service training an asset
- Computer point-of-sale experience an asset
- Able to communicate perfectly in English, written and verbal, other languages very beneficial
- Friendly and outgoing
- Team player
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Enjoy meeting people
- Able to multi-task
- Able to work at a fast pace for extended periods
- Neat and well organized in his/her work environment
