Senior Director
Nursing Services

With the pending retirement of the current incumbent we are in stage 1 of the recruitment process and seeking applications from qualified candidates. The expected start date of the position is to be negotiated but anticipated to be not later than April 1, 2010.

The incumbent will provide leadership for approximately 130 nursing staff in a unionized environment where innovation and creativity is the cornerstone of our success. A position description will be made available upon request.

Required Education/Competencies:

• Registered Nurse (Current Registration in CRNNS or other Provincial Body).
• Masters of Health Administration (MHA)/equivalent graduate degree (or in progress).
• Progressive experience in leading system change across the continuum of care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a complex environment demonstrating respect and compassion to a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in an accredited health facility.
• Knowledge and commitment to implementing a model of care that will meet the needs of our residents in the future.

The salary range for this position is very competitive and in keeping with Nova Scotia Hay Management scale. We offer a defined pension plan, medical/dental benefits, as well as other excellent fringe benefits.
