Key Responsibilities:

As an SR&ED Specialist at Deloitte, you will use your knowledge of computer science and information technology to prepare the technical portion of clients' Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentive claims. You will play an integral role in the technical component of fieldwork engagements as you work with a team of skilled engineers, scientists and tax professionals to:

• Keep current with innovative developments and trends in the computer science and information technology industry
• Examine our clients' technology, products and operations to determine which R&D activities qualify for income tax incentives,
• Plan, organize and execute engagements on time and on budget
• Interview technical personnel and prepare all necessary documentation to file an SR&ED claim on behalf of our clients
• Develop an understanding of the SR&ED program and the ability to interpret legislation
• Assist with research and correspondence with the tax authorities to address any technical audit issues
• Successfully develop and manage client relationships

Extensive training on the Canada Revenue Agency's SR&ED Tax Credit program will be provided for the successful candidate.

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field is an asset
• Minimum 5 years progressive work experience in the computer science or information technology industry
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong client focus and orientation towards achievement
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects
• Willingness to travel within South Western Ontario
• Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency's SR&ED Tax Credit Program would be an asset
