One of our client's in Saint John is seeking a Technical Writer for a 4-6 month contract.  The Technical Writer is responsible for planning, organizing, writing and editing a variety of the Client's publications. The Writer acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable specifications, engineering write-ups and architectural drawings and works with Development, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, Professional Services and Training Departments in a cross-functional team environment to create quality materials.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Works to continuously improve the content of technical publications
• Maintains an expert knowledge in the field of technical publications
• Gains and maintains an expert level of knowledge on the products and components being written about
• Achieves expert product knowledge in order to produce quality materials
• Works with Development, Quality Assurance, Production, Marketing, and Product Management to ensure appropriate creation and timely delivery of technical publications to coincide with product release
• Works cooperatively with other technical writing staff to ensure appropriate coverage of several kinds of product releases (large point releases, maintenance releases and customer bug fix releases)
• Follows corporate and departmental style guides to ensure a consistent look and feel for publications releases
• Follows the corporate and departmental defined processes for the development and delivery of documentation to ensure a quality end-product
• Understands the high-level technical solutions being developed

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

• A minimum of five years experience writing English language technical publications for a technical audience
• Experience with Framemaker, Robohelp, any standard graphics tool, and HTML to create and manage technical publications
• Significant experience in working with extremely complex technical solutions
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Desired experience includes familiarity with computer telephony integration (CTI), network-based solutions, CRM systems, telephone switches or other highly technical software, as well as experience with programming languages and concepts.
