Division of Marketing and Communications
(1-Year Contractual Position)

Duties:

Reporting to the Manager of Web Content Services and Associate Director (Marketing), Division of Marketing and Communications, the Copy Writer will create content for the institutional website, as well as other marketing and communications vehicles that embody Memorial's brand and reinforce the university's key messages. Duties include maintaining standards of quality and ingenuity in written materials that reflect Memorial's brand; writing dynamic marketing and communications copy for the Web, print, radio, and television; proofreading and copyediting existing content; collaborating with clients and other staff to determine content needs and develop copy; researching content ideas and facts; and performing other related duties as required. Examples of copy writing and editing include marketing and communications copy for main and departmental websites that reflects the Memorial brand; writing advertising text for print, web, radio and television-advertising campaigns including scripts for institutional marketing videos; and writing copy for special events sites and materials such as Convocation, Rant like Rick and I love MUNdays.

Qualifications:

Considerable experience (3-5 years) in creating high quality and effective marketing and communications content for diverse audiences, including experience in writing for the Web; graduation with an undergraduate degree in public relations, journalism, arts or related area; or any combination of experience and training. Exceptional writing skills and knowledge of grammar, combined with strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize work are required. 

Salary: $35,557 on the scale of $35,557 - $49,863 per annum
