Fundraising Program Coordinator, Cape Breton Island & Antigonish County
The Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSFNS), a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation is currently accepting applications for a full-time permanent Fundraising Program Coordinator for Cape Breton Island and Antigonish County.
Responsibilities
Using knowledge of sales, fundraising and volunteer management, the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating programs and meeting regional revenue goals as directed by the Regional Manager.
The Program Coordinator recruits various schools, institutions, individuals and community organizations to take part in or assist with the Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart, Heart & Stroke Big Bike, Dress Red, Heart Month and Memorial programs. The coordinator recruits, trains and provides recognition for Foundation volunteers enabling them to successfully participate in programs in a way that is enjoyable and rewarding while meeting HSFNS goals.
This position is home based and requires that the successful candidate have a computer and office space.
Access to a vehicle is mandatory as this position requires regular travel throughout Cape Breton Island and Antigonish County.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strength in customer service, sales accountability and volunteer recruitment/retention
- Sales experience and exposure to working with schools and businesses in some capacity preferred
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills
- Self directed with proven time management skills
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Valid drivers license
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
- Role related experience 1-2 years
