MacDonnell Group, a Halifax based consulting firm, has an immediate opening for a marketing assistant to support training programs, community projects and cultural events.
Working with several business units, the successful candidate will:
- Assist with the development and promotion of marketing campaigns;
- Coordinate logistics (facilities, equipment, etc.) and provide support for seminars, classes, conferences, and events;
- Conduct market research;
- Manage the content (updates/postings) and promote the corporate website;
- Maintain client lists and databases, research new targets;
- Create and distribute marketing collaterals, presentations and other documents; and,
- Assist with other day-to-day marketing activities as appropriate.
Desired qualifications:
- Background in arts administration, public relations, or communications;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent organization skills and high level of attention to detail;
- Ability to work extra hours for special events;
- Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Office suite, desktop publishing software and database management, as well as basic knowledge of HTML; and,
- Creative design skills.
- Website design and experience would be an asset.
