Duties:
Responsible for managing the department’s information management (IM) programs, strategies, policies, procedures, and guidelines according to Corporate IM Framework and Strategy. S/he manages the department-wide information systems and provides IM guidance and advice through the delivery of a departmental IM program, including the application of legislation, strategies, policies, and practices of departmental information to enable the delivery of its programs and services. Working with diverse groups (from senior management to frontline staff at all regional sites across the province including other public bodies and governments, the public and third party vendors) the IM Coordinator will deliver an IM program which complies with provincial legislation and requirements including supervisor departmental IM staff. This role serves as the departmental FOIPOP Administrator responsible for responding to access to information requests under the FOIPOP Act and the Routine Access Policy, in addition to requests from international governments and third parties, providing advice to staff and consulting the public on access and privacy practices. The Coordinator will also provide advice and support to the Risk Manager for information risk assessments as well as managing and protecting the department’s information and systems during times of emergency. Providing a customer relationship management approach the incumbent will effectively bring cross-functional teams together for project purposes and provide a mechanism for recording and analysing feedback and implementing desired changes back to establish an environment for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably from a recognized Information Management program) plus one year related experience; preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably from a recognized Information Management program) plus three years related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. The incumbent must have records management knowledge with respect to classification, retention scheduling, and disposition of records. H/She must be able to manage projects on time, on budget, and within the defined parameters ensuring that business interruption is handled appropriately to lessen the risk involved for departmental programs. The incumbent should demonstrate client service skills such as training and teaching ability; negotiation and mediation skills; mentoring and coaching skills; communication skills; and team building and leadership skills. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic record management systems and e-mail is required. Assets include: STAR/STOR methodology, web applications, facilitation, use of office automation tools, and the ability to transfer that knowledge to others.
Classification Range: PR 6-10
Salary Range: $38,863 to $55,731
