Our client is responsible for the effective delivery of building inspection services for specific jurisdictions in southeast New Brunswick. The Building Inspector and Development Officer will administer and enforce municipal and provincial building by-laws, zoning by-laws and other related by-laws and regulations.

Candidates should meet or exceed the following qualifications:

• High school graduate as well as completion of Mechanical or Building Engineering Technology program and registered or eligible for registration in the N.B. Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and inspection field of building construction, including interpreting drawings and specifications, as well as experience as a Development Officer as it relates to the administration and interpretation of zoning regulations
• Successful completion of Level III Building Code certification
• Computer skills (including use of MS Office, MS Outlook, Filemaker Pro, Palm GIS Mapping)
• Strong detail orientation
• Superior communication skills (bilingual would be an asset)
• Ability to manage time and prioritize work
