Job Description:

You have at least 3 years of Sales Management experience, a proven track record and the drive to turn people into top performers. A decisive leader who embodies initiative and professionalism, you will manage branch staff as well as develop and grow the sales force. Focusing exclusively on new client acquisition, you will build profitable relationships and retain business to achieve growth goals.

The successful incumbent will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic sales plans for growth, improve client acquisition and maintaining client retention.

Requirements:

  • Post secondary education preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu
  • Entrepreneurial / business developer mindset
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of previous direct sales experience
  • Proven prospecting techniques
  • 3 to 5 years of previous experience in a sales leadership and/or coaching capacity
  • Superior selling and sales management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior time management and organizational abilities
  • Sound decision-making skills
  • Strong people management skills; able to assemble and manage a new team of people
  • General Insurance License and/or Life Agent License considered an asset; Training will be provided

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure team is focused on client acquisition, building profitable relationships and advice capabilities to achieve business growth goals and revenue plans
  • Coach and develop staff utilizing focused sales management routines and product knowledge to enhance sales activities
  • Build strong relationships and local community connections
  • Manage sales capacity through ongoing assessment of resources and allocation of any centrally generated sales leads. Ensure employees maximize opportunity spotting with all clients to enhance referral sales activities and contribute to the client experience
  • Lead performance management process through establishing individual and team goals, action plans, competency development and ongoing coaching
  • Maximize the use of technology and maintain data integrity, documenting all relevant client sales and services contacts and results
  • Continue to build a sense of team among the newly assembled branch staff, and maintain a high degree of engagement and flexibility to meet the challenges of a start-up location
  • Initiate action that addresses obstacles to sales
