Position Title: Account Executive
Position Overview:
The Account Executive acts as a strategic orchestrator, business consultant and long-term ally to the broker. Reporting directly into the Branch AVP, this role will be supported by the Business Development Specialist. From an external perspective, the primary contact in the broker office is the broker principal or middle management group.
The Account Executive (AE) owns and manages a portfolio of brokers in a designated territory. They service cross brand and cross line (CL and PL). AEs are accountable for acquiring new business, maintaining and growing existing business, and providing advisory and strategic partnership to their clients. AEs provide analytics, metrics, and expertise of pricing that shows their clients how they can profitably write more business. They provide their clients with tools to help them sell and help them embed these tools into their sales approach. The AE also provides guidance to the BDSs supporting the portfolio, in executing the growth plan, and ensures that their activities are aligned.
The AE will primarily focus on affinity groups and will have direct marketing and campaign management responsibilities.
The value proposition of the AE role is that it is the broker’s key contact, clearly accountable and empowered to make immediate decisions. They develop solutions and find answers for their brokers by understanding their unique needs and providing expertise on how they can grow their business with our client.
Required Education & Experience:
- 8+ years related experience, preferably within the property and casualty insurance industry
- Portfolio management, preferably within the property and casualty industry
- Direct marketing and campaign management experience
- Demonstrated sales success (new and existing business)
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Customer and results focused
- Strong networking capabilities
- Very strong business management (business plans, marketing plans, metrics, understands business drivers) capabilities
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
