We are currently hiring an experienced Bodily Injury Analyst in our Halifax office.

Reporting to the Team Leader BI, the BI Analyst, is responsible for the handling of
bodily injury tort claims in the Atlantic Provinces. This includes full investigation of
liability and quantum. The Analyst is required to deal with plaintiff and defence
counsel on a regular basis. As well, the Analyst will be responsible for both direct
handling & overseeing the direction of independent adjusters. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.

General Accountabilities:

  • Expedite client contact, explain coverage, rights, obligations, claims presentation and processing in accordance with policy.
  • With guidance, set reserves and monitor on a constant basis.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers, management, and corporate office.
  • Upon receiving an assignment, complete full liability investigations, via phone, independent adjusters, field representatives’ etc.
  • Complete six point summary and all notepad notes in a timely manner.
  • Gather necessary information to determine extent of injuries.
  • Apply departmental procedures to ensure efficient, productive and cost effective results.
  • Achieve sound and final resolution of tort exposure.

Skills and Critical Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years BI related tort experience is required
  • Bi-lingual (French) language skills are a strong asset.
  • You have a full understanding of the insurance industry and the related legal environment.
  • You demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You have a strong client service orientation
  • You possess excellent organization and time management skills.
  • You have effective analytical skills and you are detail oriented.
  • You have demonstrated strong negotiation skills.
  • You have demonstrated your ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
  • You are able to work with minimum supervision
  • You possess a CIP designation or are currently enrolled in the CIP program.
