Payroll & Benefits Analyst
The OSCO Construction Group consists of construction and manufacturing companies which fabricate both steel & precast concrete products and perform specialty construction services. Our dynamic collection of companies is experiencing considerable growth and change. We are currently seeking a Payroll & Benefits Analyst to join our team in our Saint John, NB office.
Primary Responsibilities:

Running and analyzing payrolls for a large group of companies (currently 20 different payrolls for 57 different unions)

Adhering to payroll/benefit processes to ensure proper administration of these functions

Set up, changes, and termination of employees from both the payroll system and benefits providers' systems

Understanding government legislation, benefits contracts and collective agreements and their effect on payroll

Ensure proper enrolment, payroll, and union forms are completed both accurately and timely
-
Various remittances for union dues, hours reports, payroll taxes, and benefits
-
Ensure system integrity through careful set up and auditing
-
Training of time entry end users, department managers, and others as required to produce a positive impact on the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing

Statistics tracking and reporting as required

Manage 3rd party garnishments and remittances
Applicants must possess these minimum Required Qualifications:
-
Proven payroll and benefits work experience involving a highly evolved software system (JDEdwards)

Detail-oriented coupled with proven sense of urgency and ability to balance priorities without sacrificing deadlines;

Exceptional time management and organizational skills with ability to work well in an extremely fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Must possess an inquisitive nature and be able to challenge the status quo in a manner that promotes teamwork will embracing the need for change
In addition, applicants with the following Ideal Qualifications will be given preference:

Successful completion of University or Community College program focused in Accounting

Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in MS Office with exposure to JD Edwards/People Soft;

Experience successfully developing and implementing process improvement initiatives
