Nova Scotia Power is looking for a Recruitment Specialist to join our recruiting team and support the company's recruitment efforts. The Recruitment Specialist will work closely with the hiring managers and the human resources team to efficiently and effectively deliver recruitment support. There will be a strong focus on sourcing, screening, and managing the hiring of high quality candidates.  In addition, there will be an opportunity to work on projects and recruitment related initiatives within the Client Services team. 

Accountabilities:

  • Understanding Nova Scotia Power's recruiting policies and processes;
  • Providing recruiting and consulting support to hiring managers for positions across the organization;
  • Managing a high volume of requisitions and ensuring service and quality standards are met;
  • Staying on top of industry best practices related to recruitment;
  • Actively participate in regular team meetings and continuous process improvement initiatives;
  • Manage recruitment projects as required.

Skills, Capabilities and Experience: The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of previous recruiting experience, along with a university degree or diploma. S/he will possess the ability to manage a high volume of recruiting activities and will have experience conducting competency-based interviews. S/he will have demonstrated consultation skills, the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, as well as a high respect for confidentiality. 

The incumbent will be detail oriented and will have demonstrated a strong client focus and networking skills.  Being technologically savvy and having previous experience using Taleo is considered an asset. S/he must be willing to support team members at all levels, pitching in wherever necessary. A valid NS Driver's license is mandatory, as travel will be a requirement in this role.

This position offers a compensation package commensurate with the role and includes a base salary and benefits package.
