St. FX is a top ranking Canadian university and we are seeking a Benefits and Pension Specialist to be a part of the Human Resources team. This permanent, full-time position will report to the Director Human Resources and be responsible for participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the University’s benefit and pension programs.
The Benefits and Pension Specialist’s key responsibilities will be to evaluate and administer the existing pension and benefits programs processes, to recommend plan and process improvements and to conduct competitive market analysis, cost/benefit analysis, regulatory compliance audits, and evaluations of the organizational and financial impacts of the University’s plans. The Benefits and Pension Specialist will also compile claims reports related to the benefits program and submit to management with recommendations where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in employee benefits and pension administration and analysis
- University Degree in Business, HR or comparable program
- Knowledge of current legislation as it relates to employee benefits and pension
- Proven research, analytical and decision making skills and abilities
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills, including proven tact and ability to gain client trust and confidence
- CEBS, GBA, RPA or CHRP designation would be considered an asset
