Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health, the Attendance & Disability Management Advisor is a member of the Occupational Health Team. The Attendance & Disability Management Advisor is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating policies, processes, and programs that promote an accommodation service which complies with the organization's collective agreements, employment guides and legislation. The Attendance & Disability Management Advisor works closely with all departments to develop good working relationships and an understanding of the functions of the departments. The Advisor is also responsible for some functions associated with the Attendance Management Program.
Qualifications:
*Graduate of a post secondary degree, certificate or program in Occupational Health and Safety or Human Resources or Disability Management or relevant Healthcare area or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
*Minimum five years of specialized experienced in disability management
*Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred
*Membership in local and/or national professional association
*Certification in Occupational Health or Human Resources preferred
*Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Internet Explorer, or other information management systems
*Extensive knowledge of collective agreements and policies and regulations pertaining to Human Rights, Employee Attendance, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and Duty to Accomodate is required
*Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct effective training programs related to disability management
*Demonstrated self-starter, decision-maker and problem solver
*Excellent customer service, interpersonal and relationship building skills
*Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
Hours of Work:
* Permanent Full-Time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
