I.M.P. Group Limited Aerospace Division located at the Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport and Canada’s largest Military Maritime Patrol Aircraft Support Contractor engaged in repair, overhaul, modifications, engineering and technical publications, invites applications for the position of:

Human Resources Assistant

The purpose of this role is to provide HR administrative support to IMP Aerospace’s Human Resources department. 

Job Description/Specified Requirements

  • Respond to employee inquires regarding all HR and Corporate policies, procedures, programs and collective agreements.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate, and up to date employee files and HRIS data.
  • Prepare offer packages and review completed paperwork for accuracy.  Ensure set up of new hires with appropriate tools and accesses.
  • Participate in new employee orientation program.
  • Prepare and process paperwork for employee transactions including reclassification letters, contract extensions, employment verifications and terminations.
  • Administer employee reimbursement policies such as relocation and safety boots.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Other duties as assigned, or required.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years HR related experience
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Employment legislation pertaining to employment practices
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations in a fast paced, diverse environment
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through with projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of all required MS Office software
  • The ideal candidate would be enrolled in or completed a HR Management Certificate program, working towards CHRP designation
  • Incumbents must be able to pass and maintain Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and Transport Canada security clearances
