Change The Way People Think About Mental Health
Executive Director
For over 20 years, the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those individuals in the community living with mental health issues. With the commitment and support of a volunteer Board of Directors, donors, sponsors, numerous community volunteers, and staff, the Foundation raises $1.25 million annually to support patient programs, research, and education to enhance the mental health of all Nova Scotians. The Foundation's signature awareness and fundraising events – the Golf Classic Fore Mental Health, Festival of Trees, and A Different Stage of Mind – are well known and hugely successful every year. This year, the Foundation is launching its first ever Capital Campaign that will raise funds to support community-focused living and increased access to mental health care in the community.
As the Executive Director of this not-for-profit, charitable organization, you will provide day-to-day leadership and oversight to the Foundation's activities, programs and staff to meet the goals and objectives of the organization. You will play a key strategic role in shaping the future of the Foundation as it expands its programs and services throughout Nova Scotia. You will guide fund development activities, play a role in coordinating Capital campaign initiatives and leadership gift development and mentor staff to enhance fund development. Working with the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for the overall financial health and direction of the Foundation.
A proven leader, you possess exceptional communication skills, an ability to think strategically and strong personal values. Your background ideally includes a university degree in business, public administration or a related discipline and a proven track record for realizing results as a manager and relationship builder.
