Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Technical Specialist performs and analyzes procedures offered by the divisions using appropriate methodologies and quality assurance techniques. The Laboratory Technical Specialist has the capability to conduct all aspects of procedural and instrument troubleshooting, method evaluation, establishment and maintenance of quality assurance and safety programs, as well as interpret the technical acceptability of test results. The Laboratory Technical Specialists demonstrates supervisory skills and has some administrative responsibilities in designated areas of the division.
Qualifications:
* Must be a graduate from an approved program in Medical Technology plus three years experience in a Core Lab setting (Blood Transfusion Services, Chemistry and Hematology)
* Must be licensed with NSCMLT
* Must be able to recognize abnormal situations and respond appropriately
* Experience with Cerner LIS preferred
* Previous experience with Quality Assurance initiatives preferred
* Must have demonstrated customer service skills; leadership skills; excellent organization and technical skills; as well as good decision-making skills
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Hours of Work:
Permanent Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary: Medical Laboratory Technologist:
$26.0679 - $31.6465
