Position Summary:

The Clinical Manager is responsible and accountable for the overall efficient and safe functioning of the facility during evenings, weekends and statutory holidays in the absence of Patient Care Managers and other Managers, reporting any significant events to the Manager-On-Call.  The Clinical Manager will provide clinical consultation support to the staff at ASSH, BVMH, SCCCC and NCMH as required.

The Clinical Manager will provide leadership in the planning, directing, monitoring and controlling of activities within the facility in accordance with accepted standards of care, established policies and procedures, and the vision, mission and values of the Cumberland Health Authority.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in nursing practice required.
• BScN or BN degree or willingness to obtain required.
• Masters degree in nursing or related field an asset.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Successful completion of Modern Management Program offered by the Canadian Healthcare Association an asset.
• Demonstrated effective leadership and management skills, organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in change management, team building, clinical practice evaluation, development of staff, conflict management and program planning required.
• Demonstrated commitment to service provision, continuous learning and professional development required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and effectively with others required.
• Formal preparation in management or equivalent experience required.
