Duties:
Under the general direction of the Park Caretaker the Park Attendant is responsible for
maintaining buildings, grounds and equipment; compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations; providing visitors information; monitoring park activities; operating power tools, and carrying out strenuous manual tasks in an outdoor environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 10.
- Required to hold a driver's license valid in NS or equivalent to NS Class 5.
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate - photocopy of certificate must be included with application.
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) - verification of training must be included with application.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in building and ground maintenance and the use of various power tools.
- Experience in push mowers, string trimmers, and hand tools.
Condition(s) of Employment:
- Candidates selected for interviews may be required to submit a Driver's Abstract.
- Available for duration of work term.
Classification Level: MOS 4
Term of Employment: June 16 to September 6, 2008
Salary Range: $31,219 - $31,812
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week - May involve working evenings, weekends and holidays
