We are currently seeking talented and experienced engineering and restoration Project Managers in the the fields of cladding; building sciences; concrete or restoration to join their Toronto and Burlington based teams.
The Ideal Candidate We want our candidates to be driven, motivated and eager to always be learning. As a Project Manager, sustainability in practice and business operations is key to our client, as is community involvement and integration. The ideal candidate will come from a building science background in either cladding, roofing, restoration or concrete specialisims with 5+ years experience in running medium to large scale restoration projects.
Job Description As restoration Project Manager you will be in charge specific restoration projects in commercial, residential and parking for clients in GTA. These restoration projects will range in size from $10,000 or $300,000 in value as part of anything from $100,000 to $100m in total project value. You will liaise with the client and your team to conduct thorough investigations and evaluations leading to proposals and reports for the required work.
Responsibilities

The successful Project Manager will:

  • Manage multiple project teams delivering consulting engineering services to clients
  • Meet project targets by effective organization and use of resources
  • Lead project start-up meetings, delegate responsibilities, and manage deliverables
  • Provide technical direction and peer review the outputs of team members
  • Prepare project proposals, investigation reports, and engineering specifications
  • Ensure project design and delivery meets contractual agreements and quality standards
  • Responsible for the financial management of projects (budgeting and billing)
  • Offer continuous client contact; be the primary source of client communications & reports

  • Keep the Project Principal (PP) informed about project status and the issues that impact client relations
  • Make contributions to knowledge management and quality control practices
  • Contribute to the firm's reputation and ability to generate new business/work
Requirements
The successful applicant will have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or an Applied Science A P.Eng or CET designation would be a definite advantage
  • 5-7 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment managing building science projects
  • Proven ability to provide strategic and technical leadership to junior engineers
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
