Director of Finance

As the Director of Finance, you will bring strategic financial acumen and a passion for public service to this significant leadership role. As the chief financial executive, you will ensure that financial accounting, reporting and financial management adhere to the highest standards for integrity, transparency and accountability and are consistent with PSAB principles. You will provide leadership and oversight to budgeting, finance, procurement and payroll functions and be a coach and mentor to the 180 members of the Finance business unit team. You will provide advice to senior executive and Council with respect to the planning and management of HRM's combined gross operating and capital budget of over $800 million.

Your professional accounting designation and significant senior management experience in a publicly accountable context give you the foundation to assume this pivotal role.
