We are looking to fill the role of Manager - Credit and Accounts Receivable.
Duties include:
- Manage the Accounts Receivables related to Irving Oils Commercial Accounts.
- Manage the Credit adjudication/ granting process for Commercial accounts, including the business relationship with external companies involved in the Credit granting process.
- Manage collection of Commercial accounts by coordinating and designing work plans for the collectors to ensure adequate regional coverage and reduce receivables.
- Manage the cash receipt and payment application process for Commercial accounts.
- Provide performance management of staff through training, coaching, and conducting performance appraisals to ensure staffs is trained on how to perform their duties, set goals and review performance expectations.
- Establish and maintain friendly, efficient relations with large customer base to encourage further dealings.
- Act as information source on specific accounts for collectors through document retrieval, investigating missing information allowing collectors to collect and reduce receivables.
- Improve department processes through research, analysis, and documentation to improve customer service.
- Work with internal and external resources to ensure accounts receivable policy, including credit policy, adheres to the overall corporate risk management strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree with Accounting/Finance. Working towards completion or full completion of FCI (Financial Credit Institute) designation or accounting designation.
- 5-10 years experience in credit industry.
- Strong computer skills, organizational skills and analytical skills are required.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are also required.
- Ability to manage a large team through three or more direct reports.
- A demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external customers is required.
- An ability to multi-task is a must.
- Willingness to travel as needed throughout Eastern Canada and New England states.
