Our mandate is to originate profitable, new mortgage sales volumes through well defined market segments competing in the wholesale mortgage origination market.
Overview:
The HLC brokerage operation includes selling CML house brand (CIBC, PCF, FirstLine, Sutton) and 3rd party mortgages, ranging from A-D Lending.
HLC has three key sales segments to access new mortgage customers.
- Resale: Our resale segment has a mobile sales force consisting of 501 Mortgage Specialists. Mortgage Specialists secure relationships with, and generate referrals from Real Estate agents, financial planners and affinity organisations to acquire new mortgage customers complete with powerful loyalty programs that lead the industry.
- Builder: This segment has a sales force consisting of 40 Builder Specialists. HLC Builder Specialists are dedicated to the needs of new homebuilders and their customers. CMI provides a competitive value added construction financing package for Canada's top builders.
- Group: The Group Mortgage Account Manager's mandate is to secure new corporate clients to take advantage of the Group Mortgage Plan. (GMP). GMP is the largest subsidised Employee benefit program of its kind in Canada, and offers a full range of mortgage subsidy options. Group Mortgage specialists provide effective telephone mortgage origination to our corporate clients.
Plus HLC Alternatives: A convenient customer service offered through Home Loans Canada. In the event that a customer does not fit CMI's prime mortgage financing
criteria, HLC Alternatives is able to offer sub-prime lending capabilities through the Option Mortgage or by matching the customer with one or more of over twenty market lenders with various lending criteria. The HLC Alternative service is offered through Mortgage Specialists, Builder Specialists, and Group.
Key Accountabilities / Activities:
The successful applicant will contribute to the overall success of HLC by working in a team environment selling mortgages from a variety of lenders including CIBC, Presidents Choice Financial and First line Mortgages.
This is a commission sales position; the Mortgage Specialists' primary objective is to grow and cultivate a referral network that will generate a target of approximately $12,000,000 to $15,000,000 in mortgage production yearly.
The ability to display new and creative ways to reach your work objective is critical to success, as well as the ability to develop your own plan, manage your time and focus your efforts on a daily basis to reach your goals.
- Establish reciprocal business relationships with real estate firms and other reputable business sources for the purpose of identifying suitable customer prospects for residential mortgage financing.
- Be available to meet clients at times that are convenient for them ( i.e in their home or at their office).
- Interview and take applications, obtain all pertinent personal and credit information, confirm employment, salary and source of down payment and submit application with recommendation for approval.
- Actively promote HLC Mortgage Life Insurance product.
- Meet and exceed mortgage sales targets of $1,000,000 in mortgage production monthly
- Ensure service excellence to distinguish HLC from the competition.
Requirements:
- Lending and knowledge of underwriting guidelines, highly desired.
- Strong Prospecting Ability: Must be able to develop your own sources of mortgage referrals from a variety of sources (i.e. Realtors, Builders, Financial Services Companies, etc.)
- Self Management: Demonstrated time management and planning skills with an ability to organise the day with activities that contribute to the overall goal – Mortgage Production.
- People Person: – Applicants must have a genuine liking for people and know how to get them to like you. Meeting new people and working with a wide variety of personalities effectively should come naturally to the successful applicant.
- Proven track record of Mortgage Sales or other credit product with a sound understanding of the local market, highly desirable.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be extremely flexible and adaptable and love working in a fast-paced business environment with changing priorities.

100% Variable Commission. We offer a "competitive compensation plan"
Based on sales target range of $12-$15 million, annual salary target range will be over $100,000
