Position Description:

This outbound position is an entry-level front line Call Centre role using a computerized information system. The Outbound Agent is responsible for making telephone contact directly with customers as part of a promotional offer for existing customers generally using an automatic dialer. The agent is also responsible for dialing various promotional offers, each with different features within the customer’s eligibility. Communication is exclusively outbound and provides education to existing customers with regards to new promotional offers.  This is a non-technical role (basic computer knowledge) and requires data input. Call handling is based on the client requirements. All agents will be given product knowledge and sales cycle training. 
 
Specific Requirements: 

• Provides assistance to customers to better understand product features, benefits and uses 
• Required to meet specific performance standards 
• May perform some outbound follow up as required 
• Conducts consultative marketing techniques on scripted basis to up sell related products as appropriate and initiates customer fulfillment requests via standard procedures and/or third party contact 
• Evaluates need for call escalation and conducts transfer of calls to functional specialist when necessary
• Reads and researches relevant materials and resources to stay current in product/ program knowledge
• Initiates sales closure through scripted process using data capture

Qualifications: 

• A high school diploma 
• Must have at least six months of experience in a sales and/or customer contact role in a face-to-face or telephone-based environment 
• Experience using computers
