Duties: 

The Instructors will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses within the Industrial Electrical program S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment.  The Instructor will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area.  Instructors will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans. All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond.

Qualifications: 

Minimum of certificate or diploma in the Industrial Electrical discipline and Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certification.  Candidates should possess  strong hands-on experience in the core electrical areas such as: the maintenance and troubleshooting of motors and motor controls, programmable logic controllers generators switchgears, cable terminations and splicing, variable speed drives, and power transmission and distribution; varied maintenance and troubleshooting experience in the area of electrical and power systems found in refineries, gas processing plants, petrochemical facilities, power generation and desalination plants; installation, maintenance and troubleshooting with control systems, PLCs, industrial networks, motors, generators, HV switchgear and variable speed drives; and experience with safety systems, fire & gas protection systems, hazardous area installations, and intrinsic safety.  Teacher training and experience teaching at a post-secondary level are definite assets.  Expertise in curriculum development is desirable.  Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills combined with the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships are required.  Fluency in English is essential.
