We are currently seeking a high caliber Lead Civil/Structural Designer to work on a contract basis for 6-12 months.  Based in Calgary, you will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies to the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical sector.

You will have knowledge of and/or experience in the following:

• Responsible for leading a team of designers in the completion of complex petrochemical facilities.
• Main responsibility is to ensuring the quality completion of models and drawings for the facility.
• Responsible for managing a team of 7 to 35 technical personnel.
• Additional responsibilities include establishing and monitoring effort hour and capital estimates, staff planning, schedules, coordinating with other disciplines including project management and clients.

You must have experience in:

• Working for an EPC company
• Basic and detailed design EPC project execution
• Familiar with piperacks, buildings and complex steel structures, complete with foundations.
• Experience in working with PDS, Microstation and Bentley Autoplant.

Qualifications:

• Ideal candidates shall have a minimum of 10 years of design/drafting experience and 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical facilities.
