Our client has an immediate opening for a permanent Bilingual Legal Assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities for this position will include:
• Maintain a record of all client files, related records and general files;
• Type routine correspondence, reports, etc., transcribes from a dictating machine;
• Open and close client/matter files;
• Schedule appointments, meetings and make travel arrangements, and arrange boardrooms for meetings;
• Maintain an excellent working relationship with all staff and also those in ancillary areas of the firm;
• Perform administrative and related duties as assigned and to assist others in the firm;
• Other legal duties as required.
The ideal Candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment;
• Capable of working independently;
• Must be accurate and detail-oriented;
• Intermediate/advanced PC Skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.);
• Ability to type a minimum 60 wpm and proof read very accurately;
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with lawyers and other staff members;
• Dedicated to providing quality service to clients and consistently meet expectations by providing service beyond expectation;
• Ability to use discretion and possesses sound judgment;
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities required;
• Formal Legal Administrative Assistant training an asset but not necessary.
