Job Description:
As an integral member of Wealth Management Services, your role as a Specialist is to increase High Net Worth (HNW) client business by working with the Advisors to leverage their time, talents and resources in gathering and maintaining assets of HNW clients. You will be directly responsible for assisting in business development, opportunity spotting and revenue generation. You will be integrated into the region's activities and will be responsible for showing a lift in revenues.
Requirements:
- Financial planning designation: CFP, RFP, or IQPF.
- Professional designation such as CA, or masters in tax is a strong asset.
- Investment and insurance industry knowledge are also strong assets.
- Ten years of relevant experience in all aspects of financial planning.
- Complex financial planning experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of personal financial planning, taxation and estate planning matters.
- Strong analytical and judgement skills.
- Computer literate Microsoft Word, Excel and "Naviplan Extended – (planning software).
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently to complete tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and organize simultaneous assignments and meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator and excellent writing skills.
- Desire for future growth potential and increasing responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
Business Development – assisting and the closing of business. Various methods may include: involvement in a "deal team, sitting in on high potential client meetings and offering expertise in strategies and solutions to offer competitive advantages. As a Specialist you will:
- Actively promote the services to Advisors in your region
- Deliver Comprehensive financial plans to answer clients specific needs or concerns in the areas of financial, investment, retirement, risk management and estate planning which may generate new business for RBC
- Personalize each financial plan to provide expert knowledge around issues affecting HNW clients, such as: holding companies, employee stock options, individual pension plans, retirement compensation agreements, gift and charitable planning, etc.
- Simplify complex strategies to assist Advisors and their HNW clients
- Deliver presentations to Advisors and clients on specific topics related to financial planning and illustrating related business development strategies.
- Opportunity Spotting – being involved in spotting, anchoring, introducing and following up on opportunities for complimentary businesses and solutions. Acting as a liaison between solutions partners and the salespeople. Maintaining a high level of partnership and knowledge regarding all of RBC's units.
- Stakeholder relationships – being accountable for the assigned region, some responsibilities include: managing relationships, reporting activities and results and contributing to the region's business development.
- Coaching – Providing ongoing coaching to the Financial Planning Associates assisting in the preparation of financial plans so to ensure their continued development within WMS.
