Our client, a global leader in food production, is seeking a Cost Analyst for their Halifax office. This is a contract position.

As a Cost Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with cost accounting. Your responsibilities will include analyzing operational variances, assisting with the budget and monthly forecasting, reviewing daily cost reports, posting journal entries, preparing month end, as well as other support duties as required.

As the ideal candidate, you have recently completed an accounting degree at the university level and may be interested in pursuing a professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA). Excellent attention to detail and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.  With a strong work ethic you are ambitious and able to take direction. You enjoy a fast-paced environment and learn new processes quickly. Knowledge of standard costing is considered a strong asset.
