Reporting to the Group Controller and working from our office in Milford, Hants County, we are currently recruiting a Divisional Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting for Shaw Resources.  In addition to the development and analysis of various ad hoc reports, the Divisional Controller is responsible for:

• Preparation of monthly financial statements
• Designing, modifying and ensuring compliance with internal control systems
• Participating in the development of the annual financial and business plans
• Preparation of financial forecasts
• Analysis of budget and manufacturing variances
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions and calculation of cost standards
• Collecting and analyzing of cost data for pricing tenders
• Preparation of year end audit files and documentation
• Contributing to a number of multi-disciplinary teams with financial accounting expertise

This is an opportunity for a junior accountant to undertake a career of growth and development in the field of financial accounting.  A solid knowledge of cost and financial accounting, advanced skills in Access and Excel, and a minimum of two years related experience are required.  Enrolment in a professional accounting program or possession of a professional accounting designation will be considered a strong asset.
