User Interface Developer

VERB Interactive, located in downtown Halifax, is looking for a smart individual to be part of our dynamic development team. As a front-end User Interface Developer you'll participate in the build-out of standards based Web sites and applications with (X)HTML/HTML, CSS and JavaScript with an emphasis on MooTools, jQuery or Prototype frameworks.

VERB is looking for someone with excellent proficiency in the following:

• Table-less CSS based layout
• Photoshop PSD to CSS executions and template constructions
• Excellent JavaScript skills
• Basic/intermediate PHP skills to assist on Joomla, Drupal and WordPress integration & development

Recommended Experience:

• A degree from a recognized IT and/or design school or college
• Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience
• Comfortable using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, & Dreamweaver
• Solid understanding of best practices related to Web usability, and Web user experience
• Experience with information architecture, navigation and interactivity
• Must be familiar with usability issues and informal testing
• Well organized and pays attention to detail
• Experienced in collaborating with other creative and technical people
• Able to work under tight deadlines
• Exceptional portfolio of Web development projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
