Title: Test Engineer

Location/Division: Dartmouth, NS

Employee Group: Regular, Full Time

Job Description: Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Responsible to the Lead Integration Engineer for the following functions:

  • Developing test documentation;
  • Performing System and Acceptance testing;
  • Maintaining systems assigned by Lead Integration Engineer.

Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for:

  • Proper activation and operation of the Command and Control System (CCS) and Total System Computing Environment (TSCE) including OE, configuration and computer program operation and interface with other subsystems
  • Responsible for the coordination and conduct of the engineering assessments to be conducted at each software build
  • Identifying and resolving Combat System interface issues
  • Analyzing test results and report findings as necessary for the functional testing.

Performing various levels of integration and system testing, including integration, functional, and system tests. These activities include:

  1. Developing test procedures that will verify the integration and functionality of the Halifax Class Modernization (HCM) combat system
  2. Supporting the Lead Integration Engineer in the integration of various subsystems 
  3. Performing corrective and preventative maintenance of assigned systems
  4. Conducting tests ensuring all data is recorded in Test Management System
  5. Logging and investigating deficiencies 
  6. Working with minimum supervision and following common processes.

Qualifications/Experience: Degree from an accredited university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience.

Experience working in a military lab environment would be an asset.
