System/Network Analyst

The Systems/Network Analyst devises and designs computer system requirements for the solution of more complex problems, and formulates procedures for their solutions. The Systems/Network Analyst plays a major role in the development and implementation of major systems. This position requires experience in complex programming using different programming languages. This position requires skills for maintenance of the internal and external network, maintenance of all the hardware and software installations and the security aspect of internal and external security threats.

Essential Position Functions

Principal Accountabilities

• Plans and implements security solutions to prevent internal and external threats to the system and seeks approval from CTO.
• Works in conjunction and supervision of Senior System Analyst for routine assignments; discusses or seek approval on complex matters with CTO.
• Applies independent judgment, discretion and analysis in coordinating, developing and designing computerized information systems solutions for business, engineering and /or scientific problems to meet expanding or changing business requirements.
• Determines the economic and operational feasibility of using computerized methods to satisfy information needs and presents proposals for new systems or the enhancement, improvement and/or replacement of existing systems.
• Develops and/or evaluates previously refined data and programs and select from a range of alternatives to determine the appropriate action to be taken.
• Performs all the duties required of a Programmer as necessary to complete assignments.
• Performs some or all the duties required of a System Analyst as necessary to complete assignments.
• Performs all the duties of a System administrator and Network administrator as necessary to complete the assignments or for the security of the data.
• Advises appropriate personnel on the implications of new or revised systems.
• Participates in certain aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail system design.
• Maintains current software systems and develops new software systems.
• Works under the supervision of Senior System Analyst and takes care of all the responsibilities of Senior System Analyst in his/her absence.

Position Requirements

• University degree in computer science, electrical engineering with computer science background or related technical field.
• 3-5 years experience in programming with the basic programming language (Java, C, C++, and CGI-Perl).
• 3-5 years experience in handling Server farms, maintenance and security or the network.
• Extensive Experience in installing and managing existing operating systems (Specially Linux and Windows Server) experience in using and installing open source platforms and applications.
• Extensive Knowledge in Databases (MySQL, MS SQL).
• Cisco certifications will be an added asset
• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
