Community Health Nurse I

Duties:
- Provision of mental health nursing services through assessment, referral, counseling and consultation services;
- Provision of mental health promotion activities including delivery of workshops and presentations;
- Attendance at health fairs; participation of community-based committees;
- Develops and implements therapeutic and self-help groups;
- Prepares monthly reports and statistical information;
- Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team;
- May travel to outreach clinics as required.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, supplemented by completion of an approved post-basic Psychiatric Course or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing containing course work equivalent to approved post-basic training or experience in a Community Mental Health setting;
- Extensive experience (3-5 years) in Mental Health Nursing is a requirement of the position;
- Current registration with the Association of Registered Nurses in Newfoundland and Labrador;
- Current certification in CPR;
- Working knowledge of computers and computer software would be an asset;
- The use of a private vehicle is a condition for employment.
Salary: NS-30 ($30.23 - $37.53 per hour) ~ Working 75 hours biweekly
